It is planned to implement a new fast-growing STM-scanning which allows one to study the process of rapid diffusion on the surface at the level of the video.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Insurance Scholarships

Insurance Scholarships Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship at ONE dynamic response of materials and structures. Successful teaching duties incumbent will be expected to conduct research in forgiving BISRU, along with an optional, but limited, as part of professional development. Successful candidates will not be expected to perform service to the department of the University of Cape Town in exchange for the Fellowship. During the Fellowship period, a fellow will be responsible directly to the Director BISRU, Prof Gerald Nurick.
Only applicants who achieve their PhD within the last 5 years and who has not held any full-time professional or academic posts are eligible. Insurance Scholarships Applicants who have not graduated with a PhD should provide evidence that the PhD thesis was submitted prior to start date. If possible, the evidence must be accompanied by a statement by the supervisor that the degree is likely to be given.
All South African and foreign candidates who meet the above requirements are eligible.

Value of the fellowship is fixed at R185 000 for one full academic year, with up to R 15 000 is available for research costs (such as running costs and conference travel).

This Insurance Scholarships postdoctoral research fellowship is maintained for one year in the first instance, with potential for renewal for a second year at the time of application. This fellowship does not bring other benefits and referrals for tax exemption will be applied for on behalf of the successful candidate.
